What do Jessie Ventura, Danny Glover, and Nighthawk Custom have in common?  The answer is: the Predator– or Predator 2 in the case of Mr Glover.  Although Nighthawk Custom’s Predator 1911 doesn’t sport futuristic dreadlocks, it does have some out-of-this-world features.  Take the one piece barrel for example.  It’s fit to the slide so tightly, daylight cannot escape its relief.  Only alien technology can achieve such precision!  Check out the 40lpi checkering on the rear of the slide and the Sniper Gray Perma Kote finish that resembles the fuselage of a spacecraft.  For such a feature rich 1911, one can expect to pay an astronomical price– and rightly so.  The Nighthawk Custom Predator 1911 in 45acp is $3150, but you can view our photo gallery for free.

Some things are just meant to go together.  Some examples: pizza and wings, liberals and the Toyota Prius, and the Prius and the left lane– going 30mph.  Also, the bumper of a Ford Super Duty and the aforementioned Prius comes to mind!  In the firearms world, we’ve got the AR15 and the 1911. Now, that’s a winning combo!

Today, we’ve got some great AR15s and 1911s on sale. To start things off, we’ve got a rare Colt 6920 with military “M4 Carbine” markings.  This isn’t your standard “Sporter” or “Law Enforcement Only” marked variant.  Check out the gallery here for some close up shots.  As you know, the election season madness has officially kicked off, so AR15s are becoming harder and harder to come by.  Thankfully, your friends at On Point Firearms ordered a batch of Rock River Arms CAR A4s several months ago and they’re finally starting to trickle in.  We have five CAR A4s in stock right now, available for immediate delivery.  I’ve been a fan of Rock River Arms for almost a decade now.  The fit and finish is superior to Colt and they’re guaranteed to shoot 1MOA out of the box.  Not many manufacturers can make that claim.  We also have Ruger’s aptly named SR-556 “Superlight Carbine” that weighs in at a svelte 7.1lbs.  It’s gas piston operated, has a 1:9 twist fluted barrel, and a streamlined modular handguard that allows you to place Picatinny rails precisely where you need them.  On the super premium level, we have a Noveske N4 Switchblock complete with Gen2 forged lower and AAC Blackout 51-tooth flash hider.

On the 1911 side, we’ve got the Remington R1 1911– a beautiful military spec pistol with deep blue finish, silky smooth action, and handsome walnut grips.  It’s a classic.  If you want something a bit more modern, try the Sig Sauer Tactical Operations 1911.  It features a stainless steel frame with picatinny rail, low profile night sights, a massive external extractor, ambidextrous controls, an extended combat magwell, and Ergo XT grips.  If 45acp is too hot to handle, then perhaps the Sig 1911-22 in 22 long rifle is just what you need.  These are great for training and also for younger shooters. You can’t argue with the price of ammo these days, so 22lr is the economical alternative to practicing with centerfire rounds.

Another unrelated item to keep an eye on is the new S&W Shield single stack 9mm and 40SW subcompact autos.  These are going to have an aggressive price point and give the other guns in this highly competitive segment a run for their money.  Get on the waiting list now!  We should start to see our first units next month.

Yesterday, we received a shipment of some extraordinary knives– blades that truly put the “point” in On Point Firearms.  First, we have the Heckler & Koch Epidemic OTF (out-the-front) automatic with an anodized aluminum handle and button, and a D2 steel blade. It’s made by Benchmade and officially licensed by HK.  Important note: Automatic knives, also known as switchblades, are not legal everywhere, so please make sure they’re legal in your area before placing an order. Since I can remember, I’ve been a fan of Gerber knives.  I used to save my pennies as a youngster and order from my treasured Smokey Mountain Knifeworks catalogs.  One of my first was a Command II boot knife, which I still have.  Threw it into a tree once and bent the tip.  As a special treat, we have two of the best Gerber autos for sale today:

Howdy, friends of On Point.  If you’ve been wondering what we’ve been up to for the last two weeks, the answer is: a lot. First and foremost, we’ve been cycling more students through our final two shooting classes: the Advanced Operators CQC and Designated Marksman, respectively.  We will have pics and video of the action loaded soon, so stay tuned.

Second, we’ve been working feverishly on several extensive builds for clients, including two Accuracy International long distance precision rifles that were just completed.  The first was an AI folder chassis that we hydro-dipped in Multicam. The Remington 700 SPS AAC action with 20in threaded bull barrel, Leupold Mark 4 riflescope, and Badger Ordnance rings were all treated to a Duracoat finish in matching Multicam Medium Brown.  We also added a 51-tooth AAC Blackout flash hider and 762-SDN-6 suppressor.  The result was spectacular– only to be upstaged by the Accuracy International AX rifle that we assembled next.  This AX rifle in .308win is the real deal– all $7800 worth of sub-half-MOA-guaranteed goodness.  The 20MOA top rail and rare European-spec Schmidt & Bender Police Marksman II 5-25×56mm proved to be a challenge, requiring super high rings.  To photograph the setup, we used a LaRue 34mm mount, but found the fit to be a bit sloppy.  Leupold super high rings were fitted next and the client is very happy with the package– especially when firing 175gr boat tail, hollow point Buffalo Bore ammo.  Here are some links to the photo galleries:

Another recent arrival is the new Chiappa White Rhino 60DS– the biggest and brightest Rhino to date.  This one is a beauty. Click here for the photo gallery.

LWRC announced last week that the M6A3 model is officially discontinued– making way for a new rifle called the M6A5.  We think it will have a two position, adjustable gas system similar to the IC.  Stay tuned to On Point Firearms for more info as it becomes available.

Finally, Mom is back from the hospital recovering and is doing better every day. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.  It has helped our family immensely.  God is good.  Until next time, have a good one and God bless!

You’re looking at one of the most sought after 1911s ever produced: the Nighthawk Custom AAC.  If features a .45acp match grade threaded barrel and elevated night sights for peering over a sound suppressor– like this Advanced Armament Corp TiRant45.  This superb specimen has the most amazing action you’ll ever have the privilege of experiencing.  A true artisan worked God knows how many hours on the fitting of the slide to the frame.  Calling it butter smooth is not hyperbole.  Seriously, I think the slide and frame may actually be crafted from some sort of super-strong butter alloy with an internal heating element keeping both parts melting at the optimal rate.  It’s really that smooth.  Right now, there’s a six month waiting list on these puppies, but we just happen to have another one in stock– ready for immediate delivery.  At $3300, the Nighthawk Custom AAC 1911 ain’t cheap, but remember:  cheap gear ain’t good, and good gear ain’t cheap.  And this, my friends, is as good as the 1911 gets.  (And that sentence officially exhausted my use of the word “ain’t” for another year.)

In other news, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my mother, Donna.  The Lord sent the best team of doctors and nurses we could hope for and the surgery was a complete success.  Last week, we checked Mom out of the hospital and she’s in the process of recovering at home.  The On Point Firearms family is thankful for our caring clients and the patience and love they’ve shown us during this difficult time.
