Happy Thanksgiving

Filed under: Misc. — Evan @ 10:01 am

Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!  This year has been something, hasn’t it?  We’ve got a lot of things going on at home and abroad that can cause us to worry: the war, the sour economy, pandemic swine flu, government policies, etc.  So, let’s take a break from that and rejoice and be thankful.  I think you’ll agree that this holiday season is the best time of the year, so relax and choose not to worry. Choose to be thankful instead.  Live by the words of the apostle Paul:

“Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do no be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Phillippians 4:4-7

Even if you’re not Christian, that’s still a good passage to marinate on during this week.  Enjoy the company of your friends and family during this time. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving and God bless.

Wayne’s Woods Custom Firearms Display Cases

Filed under: Misc. — Evan @ 11:08 am

Well, last week my wife brought back the Swine Flu from her trip to NY.  So, we’ve been battling it and I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it down to the Area 51 Machine Gun/Silencer shoot this weekend, 21 NOV.  However, the event is still being put on by the Saiga Forum and there will be tons of goodies out there for you to check out– but On Point Firearms just won’t be bringing our suppressors out.  Sorry, we’ll do it again soon.

If you do make it out, be sure to go shake my friend Wayne’s hand.  He’s the man behind this innovative new line of firearms display cases.  Everything is handcrafted out of solid wood.  They’re built custom to your specifications: the type of wood, the dimensions, the finish, and the position of the locks and hinges.  It’s truly a fantastic concept.  Think about it… when friends come over to visit and you have a “show and tell” with your collection, you just huddle around the safe, right?  A custom display case allows you to showcase your favorite guns in an elegant manner.  They’re perfect for the desk in your office, the table or mantle in your den, or the wall in your living room.  My favorite is the SBR case that he calls the “Six-Banger.”  I’ve never seen a display case like it.  You can fit about 6 handguns or one short barreled rifle in it– hence, the name.  Of course, he can custom fabricate any size case you can imagine! Wayne also supplies powerful magnets with each case so you can mount your guns in a secure and attractive position that seems to “float” inside the case.  Check out the pics of my Kimber Desert Warrior in one of Wayne’s cases. They’re reasonably priced, handmade with pride and patriotism in the US, and help out my good buddy Wayne.  Please take a look.  They would make a great Christmas gift for the firearms collector on your list:

Have a good week, stay away from the Swine Flu (believe me), and God bless you and your family.

Ruger LCR for Sale

Filed under: Misc. — Evan @ 4:11 pm

At long last, we finally received another few units of the hottest wheel gun of the year: the Ruger LCR. If you’re not familiar with the weapon, here are some fun facts for you to marinate on…

[click here for our Ruger LCR photo gallery]

The LCR (lightweight compact revolver) is made of polymer, aircraft quality aluminum, and stainless steel. The Hogue grip is specially designed to reduce felt recoil and the cylinder is radically fluted to further reduce overall weight. The trigger was designed to minimize friction– and as a result, has of the smoothest and lightest double action pulls on any factory revolver.

They’re only $374– which is less than the venerable Smith & Wesson model 642. For a .38 special snub nose revolver, it’s a tremendous value… if you can find one in stock, that is! Hurry up. We’ve got 3 in stock and they won’t last long at this price. [click here to buy]

Have a good one and God bless!
