I do not agree with your “5 star” rating for this pistol. Hi-powers feel and fire like total crap. The points that you liked about the pistol were just the finish and the hammer? Those attributes are not high on the priority scale. Hi-power triggers are stiff and long on pull. The mag disconnect is an automatic no deal. What happens if you lose the magazine or the mag is stomped on and is bent? I’ll tell you, your out of luck. Better a single shot pistol than no shot. Pick better guns next time and get two opinions going even if you agree one of you should play the Devil’s Advocate.

Thanks for your feedback, Henry. We’re still working on a rating system. The ‘Five Star, Top Brass’ rating was improvised and we just ran with it. We thought it was funny. I still believe that the Hi-Power is one of the most ergonomic designs of our time. It’s a natural shooter and it was designed by John ‘The Man’ Browning.
Sure, the mag disconnect is a bad feature for most shooters. That can be disabled. The trigger is rough, mainly due to the disconnect safety mechanism rubbing on the trigger action. That can be fixed too.
Overall, we can’t really find much else to complain about. And since this pistol was under $400, when it usually fetches $600 , that was a major factor in our decision. We reviewed it because the SFS feature is a rarity in the industry, and we felt some shooters might enjoy learning about it.
